Gor Mahia captain Harun Shakava has left the club for Zambian side, Nkana FC, the club has confirmed.
The central defender has been in Zambia in the last few days for talks with the Zambian Red Devils and after agreeing to personal terms, he has decided to move to the Kitwe based club.
Shakava had been linked with a move to Kenyan Premier League moneybags Wazito FC but Gor Mahia refused to let him move to the big spenders.
He has been a Gor Mahia player since January 2014 when he joined the team from Kakamega Homeboyz and went on to win five Kenyan Premier League titles among other accolades. He also played for the national team, Harambee Stars during that period.
The club has now issued a statement confirming his departure to Zambia.

Gor Mahia FC captain Haron Shakava has officially left the club through mutual agreement.
The long-serving player joined k’Ogalo in 2014 from Kakamega Homeboyz and has been instrumental, winning 5 KPL titles among other domestic titles including the KPL top 8 and super cup and making over 200 appearances for the club in that period.
During his stay at the club, he received national team call ups. He took the captain’s armband in the 2018 season and guided his teammates to the group stage of the CAF confederation cup for two consecutive seasons.
The club through technical bench and the executive committee wish Harun Shakava all the best in his new assignment.
