Gor Mahia Midfielder Detained In Nairobi Hotel Over Unpaid Bills

Gor Mahia midfielder Jackson Owusu has been detained at a hotel in Nairobi over unpaid bills.

Gor Mahia midfielder Jackson Owusu has been detained at a hotel in Nairobi over unpaid bills.

A source privy to the happenings has revealed to Ducor Sports that the hotel, situated in Nairobi town, is demanding USD 6,000 as part of accommodation bills.

“The management at Jimlizer Hotel has refused to allow Owusu to leave until his club places a commitment that the money would be paid,” the source said.

Owusu has been staying in the hotel since January when he joined Kenyan Premier League champions from Ghanaian side, Asante Kotoko.

The 31- year-old Ghanaian is the only foreign player from the reigning Kenyan Premier League champions camp who is still in the country.

Gor’s Ugandan import Juma Balinya and Tanzania’s duo of Dickson Ambudo and custodian David Mapigano all left the country for their respective homes before the Kenya government stopped air travel in an effort to stop the spread of coronavirus.

Owusu was one of the key cog of the Black Stars B team that finished second in the 2014 CHAN tournament in South Africa.
