Guinea FA Appoint Titi Camara As Technical Director

The Guinea Football Federation (Feguifoot) has named former international Aboubacar Titi Camara as the new technical director.

The Guinea Football Federation (Feguifoot) has named former international Aboubacar Titi Camara as the new technical director.

A statement from Guinean FA confirmed on Saturday that the appointment takes effect from January 1, 2020.

“Guinea FA, in its efforts of strengthening its technical capacity, has duly appointed Aboubacar Titi Camara to the position of Technical Director,” read the statement in part.

“Camara, a former Syli Nationale captain, emerged the best candidate after a very competitive vetting process.

“We are extremely delighted to have him on board as a member of the football family and as a federation, we shall give him all the support he needs,” added the statement signed by President Antonio Souare.

The 47-year-old was also the West African country’s Minister of Sports between 2010 and 2021 where he managed to achieve a lot during his 21 months in office.

Camara retired from international football immediately after 2004 Africa Cup of Nations, having been capped 56 times where he scored 23 goals in his fifteen-year career.

At club level, Camara started with French side Saint Etienne and eventually moved to Lens, where he played alongside fellow countrymen Salam Sow and Mohamed Lamine Sylla.

He also played in the English Premiership for Liverpool and West Ham United.
