Guinea International Issiaga Sylla’s Father Has Passed On

Guinea international Issiaga Sylla is mourning following the demise of his father who passed away after battling an illness.

There are scanty details about the death of Mr. Issiaga, but Ducor Sports understands he died on Wednesday.

Sylla was with the Guinea national team on Thursday in Mali where he played full minutes in the Hawks’ 2-2 draw with the hosts.

The Syli Nationale technical bench choose to hide the information from Sylla and his teammates, a decision that was visibly taken by mutual agreement with his family.

The 25-year-old was only informed of the sad news moments before the team prepared to depart to Conakry, where they will be preparing to face Namibia in the second match of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Information regarding his funeral arrangements are still sketchy but Sylla is expected to fly to his rural home for the funeral.
