Guinea midfielder Jules “Baba Neymar” Keita will likely return to action for his French Ligue 2 side, RC Lens at the weekend, following an ‘almost clear’ after working out with the team on Thursday.
Keita, who turns 22 next month, suffered an abductor tear against Boulogne in December last year.
When the club played against Lensois in a practice match on Thursday, they confirmed that Keita had completed his rehabilitation.
Lens director-general Arnaud Pouille said they are hoping to see Guinean international back in action soon.
“He has started training with the team on Wednesday and hopefully he’s coming back with the squad. There’s a little more physical fitness he needs to work on. Unfortunately, he has been injured for a very long time,” Pouille said.
Keita, who cost Lens around £2.7m in September 2019, made his Lens debut in a French Cup match against Nimes.
The Syli Nationale star had joined from Djion where he participated in 20 games of Ligue 1, scoring two goals only.
A former youth international, Keita made his senior debut for Guinea against Comoros in October 2019 and has been capped four times.
