Guinea To Pitch Camp In Morocco Ahead Of 2019 Africa Cup Of Nations

Head coach of Syli Nationale Paul Put went on tour to select a base for pre-tournament camping in February and according to a communique sent to media houses by  the Guinean Football Federation (Feguifoot), the team has decided to camp in Morocco ahead of the tournament.

Also, as part of preparations for the continental football showcase, the Syli Nationale have also lined-up two friendlies against Benin and Egypt.

They will play Benin in a test game on 11th June in Marrakech and face Egypt four days later in Alexandria.

Ducor Sports understands, Uganda are said to have written to request for the friendly against the Syli Nationale but there is no confirmation of the date and venue.

The friendly match against Benin was requested by Beninese coach Michel Dussuyer, former coach of the Syli National, through the current coach of Guinea national team, Paul Put.

It would be the Syli Nationale’s first match since the completion of 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, where they were held to a goalless draw by Central African Republic in their last match.

Guinea will open Nations’ Cup campaign against Madagascar and later take on Nigeria and Burundi in their remaining Group B fixtures.
