Horoya Confirm Lamine Ndiaye as Their New Head Coach

Former TP Mazembe coach Lamine Ndiaye has been announced as new head coach just two days after parting ways with Didier Gomes Da Rosa.

Former TP Mazembe coach Lamine Ndiaye has been announced as Horoya AC’s new head coach just two days after parting ways with Didier Gomes Da Rosa.

Horoya confirmed Ndiaye’s appointment on their twitter account, saying he would coach the Conakry based outfit for three years.

Earlier today Ndiaye’s agent, who requested anonymity, told Ducor Sports that he expected Ndiaye to be announced as the new head of a Guinea club but did not reveal his next destination.

“Official Lamin Ndiaye is our new coach for the next three years,” Horoya wrote on their Twitter account.

Insiders told Ducor Sports that Ndiaye would remain at Horoya past 2021 as his contract has an option of renewal if everything goes according to plan.

Da Rosa’s exit came as a shock to Horoya fans as he qualified the team to CAF Confederation Cup group stages after eliminating Kenya’s Bandari FC.

However, the management stated clearly that Da Rosa failed to meet the club’s African Champions League target of reaching the semi-final stage.

The HAC made it to the quarter-finals of the past two editions, the furthest they have reached in the Champions League, but were bundled out of this year’s tournament before the group phase by Algeria’s JS Kabylie.

It now remains to be seen as to whom Sekou Soumah and Issiaga Fadiga will be named as Ndiaye’s assistant.
