In a race that had over seven Kenyan participants, it was no surprise that they occupied the first 6 positions with Cheruiyot Timothy coming out on top (3:33.93) followed by Kiplagat Silas (3:34.26) and Manangoi Elijah Motonei coming in third (3:34.65)

The highly anticipated race came in favor of the Brit Mo Farah as he took his crown back from Ethiopian Edris Muktar who came in second at 13:06.09. Fellow Ethiopians; Kejelcha Yomif, Barega Selemon and Alamirew Yenew came in 3rd, 4th and 6th respectively.

Long Jump

South African Luvo Manyonga maintained his winning streak and bagged a Diamond League trophy after jumping a distance of 8.49 while teammates; Samaai Ruswahi (8.31) and Mokoena Godfrey Khotso (7.13) came in second and 9th respectively.

200m Women

Ivorian Ta Lou Marie-Josee came in third at 22.09 behind Jamaica’s Elaine Thompson (2nd) and Shaunae of Bahrain

800m

Caster Semenya (1:55.84) won a Diamond trophy ahead of Burundian Niyonsaba Francine (1:56.71) and were joined on the podium by Kenya’s Wambui Margaret Nyairera (1:56.87). Ethiopia’s Alemu Habitam finished in fourth position.

3000m Steeplechase

Kenyans Chepkoech Beatrice (8:59.84) and Jeruto Norah (9:05.31) made podium positions with silver and bronze medal wins respectively while fellow teammates; Kiyeng Hyvin, Chespol Chepteek and Kirui Purity finished 5th, 8th and 11th respectively.

Ethiopians Assefa Sofia and Diro Etenesh came in 7th and 9th positions respectively.
