Ibrahima Thomas has ceased playing for Senegal’s basketball men’s national team over what he considers to be his coach’s indifferent treatment of him.

The 32-year-old was one of those being included for the Abidjan tournament but won’t be going after taking to Facebook to make the shocking announcement.

In a two-paragraph post, the erstwhile Oklahoma star said he won’t be honoring call-ups until Spanish coach Porfirio Fisac is replaced.

“In the future with another staff, I would always be available but for now I prefer to withdraw. This decision is well thought out. I refuse to be treated differently by the people of my own country. This respect must be given to professionals and local (players as well),” he said.

Neither gaffer Fisac nor the Senegalese basketball governing body has responded to Thomas’ claims.
