Inter Allies To Probe Match-Fixing Reports

Ghana Premier League side Inter Allies has launched internal investigations over alleged match-fixing in their 7-0 loss to Ashanti Gold in the final day of the season.

Allies had socked in five goals before one of their defenders, Hashim Musah, directed the ball into his own net on two occasions.

In a statement, the club said they have started investigations and they will take all legal procedures to ensure that the truth is found and the culprits involved are brought to justice.

“The attention of the management of Inter Allies Football Club has been drawn to a video in circulation concerning the Ghana Premier League game between the Club and Ashanti Gold SC at the Len Clay Stadium on 18th July, 2021,” reads part of the club statement.

“The said video shows a player of Inter Allies, Hashmin Musah scoring 2 deliberate own goals.The Management condemns any such conduct and activity that compromises the integrity of the game.

“Without any prejudice to Ghana Football Association’s investigation, the Management of the Club has instituted an internal inquiry headed by Paul Parker Atitsogbui Esq to look into the matter and advise management accordingly.

“Once again, the Management wishes to dissociate ourselves from such unprofessional conduct.”

One of the players in question Musah had came in as substitute before scoring two own goals in the most shocking manner which has sparked outrage across the continent.
