Record 20-times Tanzania Premier League champions Simba SC may be forced to look for a new coach after reports emerged that manager Patrick Aussems is on his way out of the club.
The Belgian coach left the country last week to attend to pressing matters after informing the club management, with a reliable source insisting that the coach is unlikely to return as he was allegedly not on good terms with the management.
“Aussems has made up his mind and he will not return to Dar es Salaam. He was supposed to be here on Wednesday to prepare for our match against Ruvu Shooting but he failed to show up at the airport,” the source intimated.
For the past few weeks, the tactician has been linked with several clubs including Zambian side Nkana FC and AS Vita of DR Congo.
However, Simba SC management has moved to allay fears over Aussems future with the club chief executive officer Senzo Mazingiza assuring fans that the tactician will be back this weekend.
“We would like to assure our members and fans that our head coach, Patrick Aussems has asked to be away for some time to attend to family issues back in Belgium. When he’s back, I will have more details,” Mazingiza is quoted by a section of Tanzania media.
Aussems replaced former French tactician, Pierre Lechantre who served the team for six months and the club officials were not ready to sign a new contract.
Aussems had also trained with AC Leopards of Congo Brazzaville, KSA Cameroon of Cameroon, Al Hilal as well as Benin’s technical director.
He also trained with Shenzhen Rubu, Nepal, Sainte Louisienne, ES Troyes AC, Chengdu Blades and many other teams.
