Egyptian Premier League side Ismaily SC on Tuesday parted ways with coach Didier Gomes Da Rosa following a spate of poor results.
Gomes, after away draw against Haras El Hodoud, over the weekend, met with the club bosses on Monday as the club remained at eighth position with just 24 points from 20 matches.
Ismaily are yet to win any league game in their last six matches, a run that has extinguished their hopes of finishing in top four in the league.
“Ismaily’s Board of Directors would like to thank Didier Gomes, the manager of the first team, and have decided to terminate his contract by mutual consent,” the club said in a statement.
“The decision comes after the team drew in two consecutive matches against Wadi Degla and Haras El-Hodood, and the players appeared in a poor condition both physically and technically.”
Ismaily have registered only three wins, four draws and three loses under coach Gomes who took over the club in January.
The 50-year-old gaffer replaced Serbian coach Miodrag Jesic who was shown the door after a series of poor results.
Gomes was previously in-charge of Guinean giants Horoya AC where he was sacked last November despite guiding the team to the league title last season.
He also had a successful stint with Cameroonian side Coton Sport from 2013 to 2015, winning the league title twice, the Cup once, besides reaching the Confederation Cup semi final.
His job at Ismaily was Gomes second stint in an Arab country, as he previously guided Algeria’s CS Constantine in the 2015/2016 season, reaching the Confederation Cup quarters and also the Algerian Cup semis.
