Ismaily Set Abdel Rahman Magdy Asking Price

Egyptian Premier League side Ismaily SC has set the asking price for winger Abdel Rahman Magdy, despite previously revealing that he is not for sale.

Egyptian Premier League side Ismaily SC has set the asking price for winger Abdel Rahman Magdy, despite previously revealing that he is not for sale.

The Ismailia-based side announced in April that the club will not be selling any of their star players locally and will only consider letting them go should a European club come knocking on their door.

Since then, interest in Magdy has been pouring in from all over, with Dutch giants Ajax Amsterdam confirmed to be keen on the player.

Ismaily are willing to listen to the offer for the forward and they have since put a US$ 2 million price tag on Magdy’s services.

Dutch media outlet Voetbal is reporting that Ajax is keen on bolstering their attack and that contact has been made between the club and Magdy’s representatives over the idea of a move.

According to Cairo publication EG24News, Magdy’s agent confirmed that they have received two offers from the Netherlands after his brilliance with the Olympic team.

The 22-year-old has made 20 starts in all competitions for the Mango Boys this term, with Ajax reported preferring investing in a forward who is younger.

The youngster joined Ismaily in August 2017 and was in April with a move to Egyptian giants Al Ahly but the Mango boys tied him with an improved contract.

Magdy was part of the Egypt squad that won the U-23 Africa Cup of Nations last year and is expected to be named in the team that will represent the country in next year’s Olympic Games.
