Kabylie Acquire Libya International but New Signing Can’t Play CAF Champions League

Algerian league vice-champions JS Kabylie have been bolstered with the acquisition of a new player in Libya’s Abdessalam El-Tubal.

Algerian league vice-champions JS Kabylie have been bolstered with the acquisition of a new player in Libya’s Abdessalam El-Tubal.

A winger, Abdessalam makes the switch from Ahly Tripoli in what was done almost secretly without the knowledge of the league’s other big guns to avoid a bidding war.

The figure forked to snatch up the forward’s services hasn’t been disclosed but of a downside would be the new player won’t be eligible in Kabylie’s Champions League campaign.

El-Tubal was a big part of Ahly-Tripoli’s crusade in the Champions League making him, in the process, cup-tied.

The situation means he would be available to JS only in the domestic league where they’re perched at fifth-place, six points behind table-toppers Belouizdad.

“We will need him in the league to add more to our offensive set up. He is an international and has five caps and he is an experienced player with many abilities,” club president Cherif Mellal said at the player’s unveiling.
