Kaizer Chiefs have received their coronavirus tests ahead of the CAF Champions League quarter-final second leg match against Simba SC.
All the staff and players present in Dar es Salaam were given a clean bill of health prior to departure to Tanzania for the crucial match set to be played at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium on Saturday.
The Amakhosi hold a 4-0 advantage heading into the return leg this weekend after an exceptional display at FNB Stadium last Saturday.
“We received a clean bill of health for the second time in less than seven days in as far as testing for the Coronavirus is concerned. Before Wednesday, the team last tested last Friday ahead of their home game against Simba at FNB Stadium,” reads part of a statement on their website.
Chiefs added that they are confident they will receive negative results from Tanzanian authorities noting that they are aware of stories about questionable Covid-19 test results in Dar es Salaam.
“As required by the rules of CAF, the team will be expected to test once again in Dar es Salaam ahead of the game, and we are confident that we will receive an all clear as it has been with all our travels to other countries, including Angola, Burkina Faso, Guinea and Cameroon,” Chiefs added.
“We have noted with concern some reports and murmurings about tampering with results but believe that we will not experience anything of that nature from the Tanzanian authorities.
“Simba like the other teams that have visited us for our home game received professional and hospitable treatment and we hope the Tanzanians will return the favour.
