Kariakoo Derby: Simba, Yanga match cancelled

A Tanzania Premier League clash pitting Simba Sports Club against Yanga Sports Club was cancelled after the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) changed the kick-off time at the eleventh hour.

Yanga were on time to the pre-match meeting but TFF sent a communication just three hours to the match, indicating that the Ministry of Sports had ordered for  the kick-off time to be pushed  from 17:00 to 19:00.

The Jangwani giants protested the changes saying, according to regulations, the notice should have been sent not less than 24 hours before kickoff.

Later, with two hours to the start of the match, Yanga stepped onto the pitch, but Simba failed to turn up as they were on their way for the re-scheduled  kick-off.

The league managers will announce a new date for the clash that will see both teams squeeze their schedules to accommodate it towards the end of the season.
