Karim Kanote Unveiled At RB Salzburg

Red Bull Salzburg have finally confirmed the capture of Ivory Coast international Karim Kanote, three months after they announced they had signed him.

The 18-year-old signed a pre-contract to join the Austrian giants in April but he was not able to make it to Salzburg due to problems caused by passport issues.

Kanote joins the club from Ivorian Ligue 1 champions ASEC Mimosas and has put pen to paper a five-year contract.

“Everybody knows this, strikers named Karim are always the best,” RB Salzburg wrote on their Twitter page. “ Welcome to your new home, Karim Kanote.”

Kanote started his football journey at ASEC Mimosas youth team and developed into a key player for the Yellow and Blacks senior team.

He played 12 matches in the CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup for his former club, scoring 10 times.

The youngster received his first international call-up in September 2021 before making his debut against Mozambique in the nation’s World Cup qualifying clash.

He has since appeared five times for national team and was part of Elephants squad that took part in 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.
