Kasumba Moves to Zambia

Sofapaka striker Umaru Kasumba has snubbed Kenyan Premier League sides Gor Mahia and signed for Zambian giants Zesco United.

Sofapaka striker Umaru Kasumba has snubbed Kenyan Premier League sides Gor Mahia and signed for Zambian giants Zesco United.

The 26-year-old attacker was being trailed by both Leopards and Gor Mahia after his contract with Batoto Ba Mungu expired at the end of June.

Kasumba was in fine form for Batoto Ba Mungu during the 2018/19 season scoring 17 league goals. He scored three less than the golden boot winner Enosh Ochieng.

He played for Sofapaka for two years scoring a total of 38 league goals and in the process attracted interest from both Leopards and Gor Mahia.

None of the sides could, however, meet his financial demands and the player has now moved to Zambia signing for the champions.

He has already been named in Zesco’s CAF Champions League squad alongside Kenyan trio of David Owino, Teddy Akumu and Jesse Were.
