Nigeria’s wonder kid Kelechi Ineahacho has continued to repay the faith his manager has put in him after granting him his first start this season. The 19-year-old set up the first goal for Kevin de Bruyne with a header to leave the Belgian open. He then went on to finish off a deflected De Bruyne shot to take Man city 2-0 up early in the game.
Kelechi came into the game on terrific form after he scored Nigeria’s only goal against Tanzania in their last AFCON qualifier. Ineahacho goes into the history books as the youngest goal scorer in the Manchester Derby at 19 years.
The CAF’s most promising player award winner now takes his goal tally for the club to 15 after he scored a terrific 14 goals last season. He also finished the season with the best goal-per-minute ratio averaging a goal every 93.9 minutes.
Kelechi who in the pre-game conference said he hoped he scores the winner in the game was full of joy after actually scoring the game’s winning goal. Talking to the press after the game, he said

We hope to see more of Ineahacho in Manchester City’s upcoming fixtures after the English FA banned the club’s only striker Kun Aguero for two matches.
A Zlatan Ibrahimovic goal reduced the deficit to 2-1 before they ended the first half but couldn’t find the net. The game ended 2-1 despite Manchester United having a formidable second half.
