Kenya Name Squad for AFCON 2021 Qualifiers Against Egypt and Togo

Kenya national team head coach Francis Kimanzi has named a squad of 25 players to face Egypt and Togo in back-to-back 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers scheduled for next month.

Kenya national team head coach Francis Kimanzi has named a squad of 25 players to face Egypt and Togo in back-to-back 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers scheduled for next month.

The Harambee Stars kick-start the journey to the African football’s premier showpiece with an away match against Egypt on November 14 in Cairo before hosting Togo five days later at the Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani.

Kimanzi has selected a bulk of players that played against Mozambique two weeks ago in a friendly which the Stars lost 1-0.

Notable inclusions include Patrick Matasi, Daniel Sakari, Johanna Omollo, Ayub Timbe, Johanna Omondi, Boniface Muchiri, John Avire and John Mark Makwatta.

Farouk Shikalo, Yusuf Mainge, Enosh Ochieng, Bernard Ochieng, and Clifton Miheso are the notable players who have been dropped from the last squad.

Harambee Stars assemble for camp on Tuesday, November 5 and depart for Cairo five days later for the match which will be played at Alexandria Stadium.

The other country in Group G is Comoros, which Kenya will meet next year.
