Kenyan striker Jonah Ayunga has spoken of his delight at joining English third-tier side Bristol Rovers.
The 23-year-old officially penned a two-year deal with Utilita sponsored outfit on Tuesday from non-league club Havant and Waterlooville.
In an interview with the club’s official website after putting pen to paper, the former Brighton youth player expressed his joy on joining Rovers.
“I’m delighted to be here. Ever since I heard about the potential of the move I’ve been excited to join,” he said.
“I have chats with Ben (Bristol Manager) and hearing the plan that he has for both me and the club and where he wants to go showed me that this is a good place to be.”
Ayunga started his career with Dorchester and has also had loan spells with a number of non-league clubs including fellow National League side Havant & Waterlooville before joining Sutton United.
The striker linked up with his former Sutton boss Paul Doswell when he made his move to Havant and Waterlooville permanent in the summer of 2019.
Ayunga scored over 20 goals in all competitions and netted 17 times in 30 league games last season for Havant, ending the campaign as joint-top scorer in the division.
The towering forward got his maiden call up to Kenya national team in August 2016 and was included by then Harambee Stars head coach Stanley Okumbi in the squad for an international friendly fixture against neighbours Uganda and a 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier match away to Zambia.
