Harambee Stars head coach Francis Kimanzi has selected goalkeeper Ian Otieno in his provisional squad for the upcoming friendly against Mozambique.
The choice to name Zambia based goalkeeper was mainly due to Patrick Matasi’s injury. Matasi twisted his ankle while training with his Ethiopia Premier League side St George.
Coach Kimanzi has also recalled Harun Shakava, Yusuf Mainge, Masud Juma and Timothy Otieno alongside Joseph Okumu who signed for IF Elfsborg in August.
Kenya will be playing Mozambique on October 13 at the Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani.
Meanwhile, Ayub Timbe has been omitted from the team after his club, Beijing Renhe, requested he stays behind for their important league assignment against Chongqing Lifan on October 13, 2019.
The friendly match will be Kimanzi’s second game since taking the mantle from Sebastien Migne in August.
The players are set to report to camp on October 7.
