Kevin Anderson Claims Inaugural New York Open Title.

South Africa’s Kevin Anderson beat American Sam Querrey 4-6, 6-3,7-6 to walk away as the New York Open’s inaugural champion. Having lost the U.S.Open to Rafael Nadal in September 2017, Anderson felt he had a point to prove at the New York Open.

Anderson said.

The New York Open title becomes Anderson’s fourth career title which has seen him ascend to a career-high No. 9 in the world rankings.
