Khadim N’Diaye Back To Training At Horoya AC

Long-forgotten Horoya AC goalkeeper Khadim N’Diaye has started training with the first team one year after a double-leg break.

Long-forgotten Horoya AC goalkeeper Khadim N’Diaye has started training with the first team one year after a double-leg break.

The 34-year-old Senegalese international sustained the horrific injury in April 2019 while turning out for Guinean champions in an Africa Champions League quarter-final against Wydad Casablanca, and was forced to undergo surgery.

The injury kept N’Diaye out of action for the entire season and after undergoing surgery in Morocco suffered a setback as the injury failed to recover within nine months as expected.

N’Diaye has now confirmed he has started light training and could be ready to kick the ball next month.

“I feel comfortable, at ease to be with the group after spending some time at home,” the goalkeeper was quoted by club website.

“In the coming months I think I can get back in shape. Because until then, I will have to work much on physical training. I started running with a few exercises, I even touched the ball a bit, but at the moment I’m in no rush. I will prepare myself well”.

His injury forced the custodian to miss the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations where the Teranga Lions reached the final where they lost to Algeria.

N’Diaye was a regular fixture for the West Africans at the 2018 FIFA World Cup, playing in all of their three games.
