Serbian coach Kosta Papic may leave his role as the head coach of Eswatini national team in the coming days.
The 59-year-old has come under criticism from certain quarters for what some perceive as lack of tactical nous or, in other words, an inability to read matches.
However, it is understood that Papic has now fallen out with a section of Eswatini FA officials whom he accuses of interfering with the good plans he has with the national team.
“A lot of things have been going on but he has taken it all because he does not want to cause any controversy. But now, he is not sure if he will continue,” sources have disclosed.
Papic took the King’s Shield coaching mantle in December 2018 replacing Anthony Mdluli, who was the interim coach after the departure of Dutchman Peter De Jongh in March.
His contract with the Swazi Football Association is set to expire next month, with the negotiations to renew it reported to have stalled.
Ducor Sports now understands that Papic is set to become the next Zambia national team head coach.
Papic is believed to be earning close to USD 6,000 per month with Sihlangu Semnikati. The Chipolopolo position offers close to USD 10,000 salary per month.
Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) general secretary Andian Kashala confirmed to this website that Papic has applied for the Chipolopolo post.
