Lens Set To Make A Formal Bid For TP Mazembe Striker

French side RC Lens are set to make formal bid for TP Mazembe starlet Jackson Muleka, according to reports.

Muleka was one of the breakthrough stars in the Congolese Linafoot in recently concluded season, scoring 15 goals in 20 league appearances.

The 20-year-old, who was likened to former Ravens forward Mbwana Samatta has already made his senior bow for DR Congo and is attracting admiring glances from France.

Lens have been monitoring the striker, who graduated from Ecofoot Katumbi Academy, with several Turkish Super Lig clubs also reported to be interested with the player.

The French club delegation is now expected in Kinshasa next month to table a bid in the region of €2-4 million to lure the youngster.

Two Egyptian Premier League outfits, Zamalek and Al Ahly had before made an offer to the player but his agent declined saying that he’s waiting on a move to Europe.

Muleka has been a regular in the Congolese side since 2018 making over 30 continental appearances notching 14 goals and registering four assists.

The Lubumbashi-born striker made his debut the national team in 2019 and has been capped seven times scoring three times.

If Lens gets to sign Muleka, he will be the star man on an already stacked side as he will receive more publicity and attention than he does in Africa.
