Monrovia Club Breweries 0-1 Watanga FC

Watanga FC secured their second successive win by pinning Monrovia Club Breweries 1-0 at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium (ATS) in Monrovia. James Konowa, a former Breweries striker, was the lone goal scorer after finding the back of the net in the 73rd minute.

Breweries are still struggling to get their rhythm in the new league season. This was their second defeat in a row after losing 2-1 against Nimba United in their opening fixture at the North Star Sports Stadium in Mount Barclay on Wednesday, February 27th.

Small Town FC 2-1 FC Fassel

In the second match at the ATS, Small Town FC took advantage of FC Fassell’s disappointing start of the season to collect their first three points in the league by beating Fassell 2-1. Emmanuel Bolo’s late goal in the 90+4 minutes was the ultimate decider to give Small Town all three points.  Anthony Kelgbeh scored the opener for Small Town in the 18th minute before Perfect Deah leveled things up for Fassell in the 44th minute to send both teams for the half time break with the score at 1-1.

Jubilee FC 1-2 LISCR FC

Meanwhile at the Doris Williams Sports pitch in Buchanan, Grand Bassa County, it was an entertaining encounter when former champions LISCR FC rode two goals in the last five minutes plus added time to upset Jubilee FC 2-1 away.

Down 1-0 in the 65 minutes through Sam Smith’s goal, LISCR drew level in the 85th minute through Amadia Kawah, before center defender Emmanuel Tarpeh scored the winning goal in the 90+2 minutes, sealing the first three points for LISCR.

LISCR lost their opening match 1-0 against NPA Anchors, Jubilee FC settled to a goalless draw against Nimba FC in their first match in Ganta, Nimba County.

Nimba United 2-1 Keitrace FC

Nimba United put two past Keitrace FC to secure a 2-1 win at the North Star Sports pitch in Mount Barclay, their second successive home victory in the new LFA league season.

Nicholas Blapoh and Morris Janteh, who recently joined Nimba United from Invincible Eleven, scored Nimba Unite two goals in 50 and 90+2 minutes respectively. Samir Dukuly scored Keitrace lone goal in the 68th minute to draw level, but the home side could not settle to share the points.

NPA Anchors 0-2 BYC

William Freeman joined Abdoulai Bility to become the second BYC player to score a brace in the new league season after registering his name on the score sheet in the 55th and 86th minutes as BYC NPA Anchors 2-0 at the Nancy B. Doe Stadium in Margibi County.

The win was BYC’s second consecutive win of the season after beating Keitrace 4-2 in their opening match at the Blue Filed in Monrovia, while defeat marked NPA Anchors’ first following their 1-0 win against LISCR FC in their opening league match at the ATS.
