Libya Rise As Angola Drop In September’s FIFA Rankings

Libya were the biggest movers in terms of points on September’s FIFA world rankings as they earned 27 points.

Those points mainly thanks to their 1-0 win over Angola and 2-1 win over Gabon in 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifying, to see them move 12 places globally.

The defeat for the Palancas Negras means they are one of the biggest fallers down four spots to 129 overall.

Senegal are up one place to 20 in the world to make them outright top ranked African nation.

The Teranga Lions move comes on the back of their 3-1 victory in Congo and  2-0 win over Togo in World Cup Qualifiers.

Tunisia, who are second placed African nation, moved three places up to position 28 after they defeated Zambia 2-0 in Qatar 2022 Qualifiers.

On the global scene, Belgium and Brazil retained the top two spots, while England climbed to third following their 4-0 win against Andorra in World Cup qualifiers, while France dropped to fourth.
