Luís Miquissone: Al Ahly Agree To Sign Mozambique International

Egyptian Premier League giants Al Ahly have agreed to sign Luís Miquissone from Simba SC of Tanzania in a deal worth reported $900,000.

Miquissone was linked with Al Ahly in April but the club rejected an opening bid in the same region with the club’s Chief Executive Officer Barbara Gonzalez confirming they were reluctant to let the player leave before the end of the season.

But ahead of new 2021/2022 CAF Inter-clubs competitions, Al Ahly have secured the deal before the upcoming African Champions League which could have seen his valuation soar during the season.

Al Ahly are reported to have increased their offer from $700,000, making a total package worth $900,000 for the Mozambican central midfielder.

The 26-year-old, Miquissone will fly to Cairo in the next few days to complete his move, before agreeing personal terms on a two-year deal.

Miquissone was one of the stand-out performers for Simba alongside Clatous Chama, especially during their CAF Champions League campaign that was ended by Kaizer Chiefs in the quarter-finals.

He also impressed against Al Ahly in the CAF Champions League group stages where he scored the lone goal in Simba’s historical win against African champions.

Miquissone briefly worked with current Al Ahly’s coach Pitso Mosimane at Sundowns in 2018, but he wasn’t given a chance, leaving the Tshwane giants without making an official appearance.
