Maaloul: Tunisia Ready for England Tussle

Tunisia coach Nabil Maaloul says his side will give their best when they face England in their Monday’s 2018 FIFA World Cup Group G match today.

The Carthage Eagles will be participating in the quadrennial showpiece for the fifth time, since their debut appearance in Argentina 1978 and will be looking to end an active World Cup winless streak of any side competing in the competition.

Speaking during the pre-match meeting, Maaloul intimated that they are ready to face England and any other team in the group in the quest to progress into the next round.

[perfectpullquote align=”full” cite=”” link=”” color=”” class=”” size=””]”We are in form. We know very well we are in an extremely tough group but we have raised our game, especially in terms of our athleticism,”[/perfectpullquote]

the coach said.

“Everyone has seen how well we have played in the warm-ups. We are determined to go down in history.”

Maaloul will miss the services of key forward Youssef Msakni whom he left out of the squad because of a knee injury as well as Taha Yassine Khenissi.

Both Tunisia and England have met twice previously with results ending 1-1 and 2-0 to England.

The Carthage Eagles played three high profile friendlies against Iran, Costa Rica and Spain ahead of the 2018 World Cup where they recorded impressive results.
