Mahrez Among Algeria’s All-Time Scorers

Manchester City’s Riyad Mahrez has earned himself a spot among Algeria national team’s all-time top scorers.

The former Leicester City forward joined the list of top-ten goal-getters for the North African nation following his two goals yesterday in the downing of Colombia.

The wide-man stabbed home the second and third goals after teammate Bagdad Bounedjah had rifled in the opener as The Desert Foxes and African champions maintained their unbeaten run.

The 28-year-old now has fifteen goals for his country, seven behind El Arbi Soudani and Islam Slimani who is on thirty.

He will hope to close in on the duo when they face Morocco October 19^th for the AFCON 2020 Nations Cup qualifiers or France in a yet-to-be-confirmed exhibition.

For now though, the left-sided midfielder will re-direct his energies on making gaffer Guardiola’s squad for this weekend when they slug it out with fourth-placed Crystal Palace.
