Major Blow for Simba As Striker Bocco Is Ruled Out For a Month

Tanzania Premier League defending champions Simba SC will have to do without the services of their dependable forward John Bocco for one month, thanks to an injury.

Tanzania Premier League defending champions Simba SC will have to do without the services of their dependable forward John Bocco for one month, thanks to an injury.

Bocco is believed to have pulled out of a session at the club training facility on Tuesday after sustaining the same thigh injury that he sustained during CAF Champions League tie against UD Songo a fortnight ago.

This has affected the Tanzanian international talisman given that he has made minimal appearances and it is not the first time that he has been sidelined this season.

However, the club head coach Patrick Aussems has moved to alleviate fears by saying that there is no course for alarm as he has in his squad players capable of filling his boots.

Aussems is optimistic that Miraji Athumani, Meddie Kagere and Zambian Clatous Chama will build on Wekundu Wa Msimbazi next Tanzania Premier League fixture.

“We don’t heavily rely on one player because we have a pool of other good ones. This is the chance for them to showcase their skills. Yeah, we need them but we have quality players to fill their boots,” the coach said in an interview.

The striker has been in a class of his own in previous seasons making him a strong candidate for the Golden Boot award in the ongoing Vodacom sponsored league.

Simba are currently leading Tanzania Premier League standings with six points with a goal difference of three after two round of matches.
