Malawian Prodigy Henri Kumwenda Attracting Interest

Several English Premier League clubs are interested in Leads United Academy forward Henri Kumwenda, Ducor Sports can report.

Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City are interested in the talented Malawian.

The 18-year-old has emerged strongly on the strong radar of English giants Arsenal following his breathtaking performances at Eland Road.

Arsenal’s scouts have extensively reported on the Malawian since 2018 and are hoping to complete a deal in this January transfer window.

Kumwenda is yet to sign a professional deal contract at Leeds, where he has featured for the club’s Under-23 side.

“I am aware that three clubs have made contact with Leeds,” said the young striker.

“However, I am not going to war with my club. For me, everyone has to be happy and make sure they get the best deal possible.”

Leeds rate him highly so it is unlikely that they will allow him to leave mid-season and they may welcome negotiations in summer.

The youngster slotted in winning penalty as Leeds United defeated Sheffield Wednesday 5-4 in the Fifth round of the prestigious FA Youth Cup match played last Thursday.

Meanwhile, Football Association of Malawi (FAM) has said that they are following Kumwenda keenly,with a consideration of inviting the forward to play for Flames in the upcoming 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
