Nigeria’s 19-year-old forward Kelechi Inehachi has signed a two-year deal with Manchester City FC. Kelechi scored 14 goals in 11 games last season including a late winner against Crystal Palace which helped Man City secure a Champions League spot.
The Club announced via their club website that the Nigerian had signed an extension which will take him up to 2021.
Inehacho’s level-headedness, work ethic and confidence in front of goal make him one of the world’s greatest prospects.
His manager, Pep Guardiola who has groomed the likes of Lionel Messi and Thomas Muller was in full of praise of the young forward. As per the club’s website, he said, “Kelechi is a natural goalscorer. I knew about him before, but I’ve been really impressed with him since I arrived.”
He went on to say, “I like his personality, his attitude, his ability – we hope to help him reach the highest level and to realize his full potential.”
Kelechi also shared his excitement.
“I just need to keep working hard and express my feelings on the pitch and work really well and do great things for the team.
“I’m happy, and I appreciate everything the club has done for me so far at this point, so I really need to help and work for them as well,” he said via the club’s website.
The teenager is set to celebrate his new contract with his first Champions League appearance when he starts against Steaua Bucarest in the second leg of the qualifier next week.
