For six years, Abraham Niyibishaka has tried to get to authorities to arrest Rwanda international Jacques Tuyisenge for beating up his son, but justice has been elusive.
Ananias, then a ball boy, suffered head injuries after he was beaten up by Tuyisenge during the Turbo King League match which pitted the striker’s former side Police FC against Esperance.
On the fateful day, Tuyisenge was eager for a quick restart but instead of retrieving the ball, he inadvertently rained blows on Ananias as the crowd voiced their displeasure.
The Rwanda international was later handed a three-match ban and Rwf 50,000 fine by Rwanda Football Federation for the actions at Stade Mumena.
Tuyisenge was also ordered by the federation to pay the boy Rwf 100,000 to cover his medication but family claims the player failed to pay the hospital bill.
Niyibishaka, through his lawyers visited Ferwafa offices yesterday and lodged a complaint alleging that there was an attempt to cover up the player’s action.
According to her, former Police FC secretary Mayira Dean failed to pressurize the player to pay the hospital bill.
Niyibishaka also claimed former Ferwafa president Vincent De Gaulle also failed to prove his capacity and instead protected the player from prosecution.
He has since reported the matter at Kacyiru Police Station charging them for neglecting his son who has since dropped from school.
By the time of publication, efforts to reach Tuyisenge for their side of the story were futile as his phone went unanswered.
Recently, the 29-year-old parted ways with Angolan side Petro de Luanda just after one season with the club amid interest from Yanga and AS Vita.
AS Vita have set their sight on reaching the group stage of the CAF Champions League and winning the DR Congo league title in the upcoming campaign and are looking for a player with international experience who will add more thrust to the attack.
