Manchester United have reportedly agreed a deal in principle to sign French based Paris Saint-Germain right-back Serge Aurier.
According to French publication L’Equipe, the 24-year-old is in advanced talks with Manchester United and has already verbally agreed to move to the Old Trafford.
Aurier is in a contract stand-off at the Parc des Princes with his contract running out in 2019, the side might be forced to sell him to avoid losing him for free.
Manchester United have deployed make-shift right back Antonio Valencia this season but Mourinho in his pursuit to build a perfect team look set to replace the Ecuadorian with a specialist in the role.
Aurier has so far made 24 appearances for PSG in all competitions averaging a 90% pass accuracy in the league while creating 18 chances in the process.
Aurier still has two years left on his contract which means the Red Devils would have to part with a little in excess of €20 million (£16.7m) to secure his services since PSG will be unlikely willing to part with their hot prospect.
The mostly controversial defender is a big fan of Jose Mourinho and would be keen to link up with his former team-mate Zlatan Ibrahimovic who is set to extend his contract with the side.
The Ivorian has been a top transfer target for Atletico Madrid’s Diego Simeone but it looks like he’s chosen his next destination.
His build and technic make him a perfect fit for the premier League and with Valencia turning 32 next season, Manchester United will surely need a replacement that can fill the Ecuadorian’s shoes.
