Manchester United and Barcelona Send Scouts to Monitor Nigerian Forward Henry Onyekuru

FC Barcelona and Manchester United have continued monitoring the progress of on-form Nigeria forward Henry Onyekuru.

The two European heavyweights sent scouts to watch the forward as Anderlecht took on Royal Excel Mouscron in the Belgian league this weekend. The Aspire Academy product once again put on a man-of-the-match performance scoring the 80th-minute winning goal.

Despite Anderlecht’s continuous struggles in front of goal, the 20-year-old has been in fine form so far this season. The Everton loan has so far bagged himself seven goals in just 14 league matches helping to push his team to third place on the Belgian Pro League table.

His performances over the last few weeks have earned him a national team call-up, where he made his debut for Nigeria in the country’s 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Algeria on November 10.

The steady rise has not gone unnoticed by European heavyweights. The Everton forward has seen his value double to approximately £30m with-out even playing for his team. Despite the excessive figures, Atletico Madrid, Juventus, PSG, Fiorentina, Ajax, PSV, Southampton, among others have continued to monitor the forward’s progress.
