PSG is soaring high this season in the French Ligue 1 with 6 wins in 6 games, in addition, the record €222 million (approx. $265 million) signing of Neymar only justifies the fears of a striking force to reckon with.
But it is not just about having an impressive star-studded squad, it also comes down to the teamwork and chemistry.
Kylian Mbappe wasted no time showing that he is ready to fill in the big shoes even after there were fears that leaving Monaco was too soon a decision to make after just one season of football mayhem that saw him become the most sought-after striker in the transfer market at just the age of 18.
But a boy must prove his worth among men and the France striker is already making rounds on the scoresheet with a goal from the first attempt and one assist, all on his debut.
In his second appearance against Lyon on Sunday, he was instrumental in sealing all three points for PSG despite having his strike deflect off a defender for an own goal.
At PSG, Mbappe appears to be playing with one goal in mind – to improve as a player while contributing to the team’s progressive success nevertheless, his chemistry with Neymar is not to be overlooked – playing like tricksters on either flank of the field.
Only time will tell whether the French Ligue champions can really put up a solid appearance against Europe’s elite in the UEFA Champions League. For now, the authority the side commands in the domestic league is warranted by what could be an unstoppable partnership – a Mbappe-Neymar combination.
It’s quite a sightly picture to see how the two top signings maneuver through defenses and create options either with sleek and easy assists, or attempts on goal.
For Mbappe, he fits in right away and has shown little to no signs of struggling to impress on the bigger stage.
