M’Baye Niang Risks Punishment from Senegal FA over Injury Saga

Attacker M’Baye Niang could get punished by the Senegal FA over a reported injury.

The striker was named among the list of players invited by coach Aliou Cisse for the friendly against Brazil.

However, the Rennes goal-getter decided against joining rest of his Taranga Lions teammates who were on transit in France prior to departing for Singapore for the tie.

French Ligue 1 outfit Rennese had informed the Senegalese FA and Cisse of the player’s unavailability owing to an injury but the latter insisted they needed to examine the player.

Senegal team doctors passed the player fit for action, leading to a row between the 24-year-old and Cisse who was in a hotel with his representatives.

The matter didn’t end well with Niang slamming the door on his coach and storming out in anger before boarding an awaiting vehicle.

Aliou had been counting on the former AC Milan man in efforts to ensure all his key figures are available for their thrilling friendly with the former World champions Brazil.

In the current rocky times, it is being reported in Dakar that the Senegalese FA could report Rennese and the striker to FIFA for punitive measures or impose sanctions themselves.
