Mido Gets to Business with First Training Session at Ismaily

Ahmed Hossam Mido has hit the ground by conducting his first training session at new Egyptian Premier League side Ismaily.

The experienced gaffer was appointed Tuesday for a second spell at the club following the exit of Spanish manager Juan Carlos Garrido.

Mido signed a long-term contract and has been tasked with bringing the club back to winning ways and reawakening the sleeping giant.

Pictures released by the club late on Wednesday showed Mido did not waste time as he took charge of his first training session at the club training ground after he was introduced to the staff and players.

Ismaily are currently  16th in the 18-team table with six points from nine games, on level with bottom side Harras El-Hodoud.

Mido returns to coaching after staying out for three years without a job as his last managerial role was at Maqassa in 2010.

In his first spell at Ismaily which was between July to December 2015, the former Egypt international was in charge of nine games, winning five games and losing just two.

Mido will now be working at the club with trusted lieutenants like  Mohamed Abdelmonsef as goalkeeping coach alongside Ashraf Khedr, Omar Gamal, and Ahmed El-Gamal as other coaches.

The 39-year-old started his coaching career at Zamalek in 2014 and also has managerial spells with Wadi Degla, and Saudi outfit Al-Wehda while also having an advisor role at Pyramids FC.

He will start his mission with Ismaily in a tough clash against his boyhood club Zamalek on Thursday.
