Migne Keeps the Faith Despite Landing in Tough Group C

Kenya national team head coach Sebastian Migne says his team will be out to secure a quarter-final slot in the African Cup of Nations despite landing in what’s visibly a tough group.

Kenya national team head coach Sebastian Migne says his team will be out to secure a quarter-final slot in the African Cup of Nations despite landing in what’s visibly a tough group.

Harambee Stars is placed in group C alongside giants Senegal and Algeria and neighbors Tanzania.

Many have already written off Kenya’s chances in the group but Migne is adamant that his side can progress to the next round, although he admits that it will be difficult for his charges.

“Our goal is to progress to the knockout round. It will be difficult considering we will be facing some tough teams in Senegal and Algeria. The game against Tanzania won’t be easy as well because we saw them beat Uganda 3-0 recently. But I believe anything is possible, we will continue to dream,” he said.

The Frenchman added that self-belief will be key if his team is to progress to the knockout phase. “No one thought we would qualify for the competition but we did and so it’s a matter of believing in ourselves and doing our best,” he added.

Kenya is expected to camp in France for three weeks in readiness for the competition.
