Liverpool striker Mohamed Salah has joined the Pharaohs squad on Tuesday ahead of Friday’s clash against Libya in Group F of the FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
The Carlos Queiroz led-charges have also been pooled with Gabon and Angola, with the top team making it to the final qualification phase, and the Egyptian Football Federation has communicated on the latest development in camp.
Others in camp include Arsenal’s midfielder Mohamed Elneny, who missed the opening two matches against Angola and Gabon because of an injury, and Galatasaray’s in-form striker Mostafa Mohamed.
Pharaoh’s camp is witnessing the appearance of Ahmed Yasser Rayan of Altay for the first time as well as the return of Marmoush and Hafez.
However, the camp is without Al Ahly duo Mohamed Sherif and Mohamed Magdy ‘Afsha as well as popular players Mohamed Hamdi, Karim Hafez, and Ahmed Yasser Rayan.
Egypt will host Libya behind closed doors in Alexandria on 8 October in the third round of the World Cup qualifiers.
Libya will host the Pharaohs three days later in Benghazi in the fourth round of the qualifiers.
Egypt are currently in second place in Group F with four points after defeating Angola 1-0 in the opener and 1-1 draw against Gabon in the second match.
