Namibian international Willy Stephanus could be to Zambia to join FAZ/MTN Super League giants Lusaka Dynamos.
The attacking midfielder, who can also play as a striker, is currently a free agent having parted ways with Finland side AC Kajaani a few months ago.
Stephanus, whose is also called Awillo by his peers, was linked with South African side Cape Town City prior to the current transfer window.
“Willy Stephanus has joined Lusaka Dynamos on a two-year deal,” a source from Windhoek told Ducor Sports.
The Citizens reportedly tried to sign the 27-year-old winger in January, but Kajaani were unwilling to sell the player to the Mother City club.
When contacted for confirmation, Dynamos president Hanif Adam promised to get back to Ducor Sports in 10 minutes, but when contacted again he was unreachable on phone.
One of the Dynamos players, who did not want to be named, confirmed that Dynamos was with the team yesterday.
Stephanus joined AC Kajaani last year after spending six months in Thailand at Krabi FC, where he played alongside compatriot Tangeni Shipahu.
The attacker played 14 games and scoring 8 goals with the finish side who ended the league in the 8th position on the 10-team log standings with 14 points.
He is a product of Fedics Football Club in Keetmanshoop. He signed for Black Africa in 2009, winning several trophies including four consecutive league titles from 2011.
