Zambian Super League outfit, Napsa Stars, have rubbished reports that they have resumed training at a lodge in Chongwe.
Media reports indicated that Stars hit camp on Sunday in readiness for the league resumption which is set to be declared after consultations between the Football Association of Zambia and the government.
In a statement, club Media Laison Officer Gwen Chipasula says neither has the team resumed the training nor is it camped in the small town located in the Lusaka Province.
“Napsa Stars Football Club wishes to refute media reports suggesting that we have resumed training in Chongwe,” reads part of the statement.

However, Chipasula acknowledged that the team has been conducting gym sessions under the supervision of the head coach as they wait for the communication on when the league will start.
“The team, under the tutelage of Mohamed Fathi, has been having gym sessions from Mika Convention Centre and has been put in small groups in order for them to keep fit while continuing to practice Covid-19 health guidelines such as social distancing as guided by the Government through the Ministry of Health,” adds the statement.
“We have always said that the health of all our players comes first because we care for them and their families, and in the midst of the pandemic, we continue to put in place strict measures to ensure that all players follow them before, during and after the gym sessions.”
The Zambia Super Division was halted as it was about to reach matchday 26 with Napsa Stars sitting second of the table with 45 points, one adrift log leaders Forest Rangers.
