New Congo Coach Paul Put Names His First Squad

New Congo-Brazzaville national team head coach Paul Put has named his first squad for next month’s training camp in Ankara, Turkey.

Put, who took charge of the Red Devils on Thursday, has given opportunities to the likes of goalkeeper Ndizla Pavela of Etoile du Congo and Otoho’s defender Prince Mapata, while striker Thievy Bifouma of FC Shenzhen has been given a lifeline.

England based Christopher Missilou, whose fine performances with the club this season has reportedly attracted interest from top Premier League sides,is among the ten midfielders considered for the five-days camp.

Bivec Mousitti, Gut Mbenza, Gauis Makouta and Baron Kibamba among others are some of the foreign based players.

The Frenchman national confirmed that some players were ruled out because of the COVID-19.

The Red Devils will make optimal use of this training camp in preparation for the upcoming 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers that will start in September.

Congo-Brazzaville will meet Togo, Tunisia and Namibia in Group H as they battle for their first appearance in FIFA World Cup.
