New Deal For Cameroonian Youngster At Marseille

Cameroonian youngster Simon Ngapandouetnbu has officially signed his first professional contract with French Ligue 1 giants, Olympique Marseille.

Cameroonian youngster Simon Ngapandouetnbu has officially signed his first professional contract with French Ligue 1 giants, Olympique Marseille.

According to reports, his increasing improvement over the years at Vélodrome and in particular the 2018/19 season has made the club reward him with his first official deal.

The 16-year-old shot-stopper has been with the Olympians since he was aged ten, progressing through the youth ranks, having gone on to feature for the club across all age groups.

Ngapandouetnbu broke into the Marseilles U-18’s starting line-up in January, starting ten league games and one Youth Cup match.

He impressed in those appearances and proved he could effectively communicate with his defence in English as well.

“I’ve been playing football for a lot of years, starting at the age of six, so it feels good to finally sign on as a professional footballer,” Ngapandouetnbu said. “I am grateful that the club believes in me and I feel I am ready to push on.”

Born in Foumban, Cameroon, he becomes the fifth player from the club’s youth set-up to be rewarded with a professional contract in 2019.

Most likely Ngapandouetnbu will spend next season back in the U-18’s with the hope of that in the second campaign will be marked by less injury.
