Ngandu Mangala Chooses Zimbabwe Over DR Congo

Congolese born forward Ngandu Mangala has revealed that he would consider playing for the Warriors of Zimbabwe if invited.

Congolese born forward Ngandu Mangala has revealed that he would consider playing for the Warriors of Zimbabwe if invited.

The 25-year-old was born in Kinshasa but arrived in Harare over a decade ago which now qualifies him for Zimbabwean citizenship.

“In my dreams, I don’t even think of going back to DRC. I have dreams for Zimbabwe. Given a chance I would like to play for the Warriors,” Mangala told Nehanda Radio.

Mangala, who played Division One football with Green Fuel last season, made a grand arrival into the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League with Dynamos.

On Saturday, he netted a brace in a match against Mushowani Stars to power Dynamos to their first win in an opening league fixture since 2015.

The dreadlocked star has promised to score more goals for Dynamos who have been struggling to score goals in the league for the past few seasons.

“I spoke about my intentions before the season started, this was the first game of the season,” he added. “Those (goals) were just some highlights.”

DR Congo had already contacted Managala three years ago to turn for their U-23 side but the player is said to have turned down the offer at that time.

Once a target of South Africa giants Kaizer Chiefs, Mangala has played five matches for Dynamos, scoring 3 goals and making six assists.
