Gernot Rohr will not plead with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to extend his contract as the Super Eagles coach after it expires in June 2020.
Rohr was expected to have been given a contract extension in January ahead of back-to-back 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Sierra Leone, which have been postponed by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) due to the coronavirus situation.
“I will not ask the Nigerian Federation what is going on with my contract renewal with just over three months left on his present deal. It’s for the NFF to approach me. I’m still waiting,” Rohr told respected journalist Osasu Obayiuwana.

“Right now, my concern is that our players in Europe stay physically fit, even when they are not playing, because of the coronavirus situation.”
The Franco-German coach was appointed as Super Eagles technical advisor in 2016 on an initial two-year contract.
After leading Super Eagles to their sixth appearance in the 2018 World Cup the contract was extended to another two years.
Last year, the 66-year-old gaffer guided Nigeria to third-place finish at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.
Previously, Rohr was in-charge of Gabon, Niger and Burkina Faso, among other teams.
Nigeria are currently on top of Group L with six points, with Benin coming second with three points, while Sierra Leone and Lesotho are third and fourth respectively with one point each.
