Nigeria overtake DR Congo in Latest FIFA World Rankings

The Leopards have dropped six places to 46th overall in the world and they are now fourth among CAF’s teams after being overtaken by Nigeria.

The Super Eagles, who are one of the best sides in the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, climbed four spots to 44th overall and third in Africa.

Tunisia remains Africa’s highest-ranked side, and now sit 22nd in the world up from 23rd. They are followed by Senegal who remained stagnant at position 25th overall.

Elsewhere, Cameroon, Ghana and Burkina Faso – who drop one place – are among the other losers inside Africa’s top 10, while Egypt move up six spots to 58.

Mozambique were Africa’s biggest losers as they tumbled 9 spots to 122nd, while Namibia and Zimbabwe were the biggest climbers as they moved up seven places to 109th and 110th overall respectively.

Somalia retained the last spot in the African ranking, coming fourth last in the global rank.

Belgium have returned to the number one side in the world, ahead of France.
