Olympics Qualifier: Chambeshi Names Squad to Face Congo-Brazzaville

Zambia U-23 national team head coach Beston Chambeshi has roped in Kabwe Warriors forward Twiza Chaibela in his provisional squad for the Tokyo Olympic qualifier against Congo-Brazzaville.

Zambia U-23 national team head coach Beston Chambeshi has roped in Kabwe Warriors forward Twiza Chaibela in his provisional squad for the Tokyo Olympic qualifier against Congo-Brazzaville.

Chambeshi also named Nkwanzi midfielder Lewis Mwambi in the 26-man local squad for the next week’s camp ahead of the first leg on June 5 at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium.

Buildcon players will join the rest of the squad for the training camp at a later date after being exempted this week owing to a league engagement on Wednesday.

Foreign-based players will join in the final stages of the preparations.

The second leg will be played on June 9, 2019, away in Pointe Naoire, with the winner of the two legs will qualifying for the Africa Cup of Nations to be staged in Egypt in November.

Top three teams at the U-23 Africa Cup of Nations will qualify to the 2020 Summer Olympics in Japan.
